Sappraiwan Elephant Resort
Visit for half a day, Stay for a few days or become a short-term volunteer
Volunteer for up to 6 days/5 nights and stay in a luxurious resort. Your visit will allow you to be immersed in the operations of the sanctuary and learn what goes into meeting the physical and emotional needs of a herd of elephants.
You will have the opportunity to venture into the forest to observe the herd foraging, swimming, socialising or playing. After a morning of relaxed observations you will have a lunch of delicious local food and the afternoon could be spent undertaking one of many activities that benefit the elephants, mahouts and local community.
You don't have to volunteer, you can simply visit and enjoy some sight-seeing and other cultural experiences.
Sappraiwan is in the process of transforming their programmes to prioritise elephant welfare. They are developing new principles and encouraging more natural behaviour with less human interaction. Volunteers are an integral part of this journey.
