Meet The Team
Chair Trustee & Co founder
Gemma has spent several years expanding her knowledge and gaining valuable experience working with both captive and wild animals both in the UK and abroad, as well as achieving a degree in Wildlife Conservation with Zoo Biology.
Gemma's most recent exotic adventure landed her as Base Manager for GVI on the Elephant Reintroduction Project which was situated in the remote Karen Hill tribe of Huay Pakoot in Thailand. There, for two years, she led the reintroduction of elephants from the tourist trade.
Since returning to the UK at the end of 2014 Gemma along with Jade and Jazz decided more had to be done to educate tourists about the plight of Asia’s captive elephants so Thailand Elephants was created.
Gemma now works for the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust as part of the Waste and Recycling Team; they educate schools and communities to better take care of our environment.
Gemma LOVES to.....
Collect dead things (in the name of education), currently Gemma has a deers head rotting away (died on natural causes!) which she will devour for the skull....
